Lisen Spirited carries the fleur of Lisen & Gösta into the deep teal of Spirited Forest, holding the same colour world at a softer volume. It is built as a companion paper, made for the walls that surround a Spirited Forest installation: adjacent rooms, the dado below a feature wall, the antechamber that leads into the room where the larger pattern lives. The function is one the great English houses understood, the narrative paper holds the eye while a quieter sibling carries the atmosphere through the rest of the house, so the journey from room to room feels continuous rather than abrupt. The fleur is held small and disciplined, in the tradition of nineteenth-century semé papers, but here it is raised rather than pressed, the figure lifting from the sheet as a soft relief in tones lighter than the ground. There is no second printed colour. The figure reads through highlight and shadow alone, the light catching the raised form and falling behind it. What gives the paper its life is what reveals itself slowly: across a full wall the lilies are arranged so that none returns with the same neighbours, the pattern does not read in the same way twice. Read closely, the rhythm follows its own logic. Read at a distance, the wall holds its quiet tone, the small repeating motif reading as texture, the deep teal reading as atmosphere. A room paper for the corridors, the staircases, the rooms around the room where Spirited Forest lives.

Color palette

A deep teal carries the ground, drawn directly from the colour world of Spirited Forest. There is no second printed colour. The figure reads through highlight and shadow on the raised form, the light catching the lifted edge and falling behind it, the tonal variation around each fleur drawing from the same teal in lighter and deeper cast.

The ground reads as a deeply saturated sheet, matte, evenly absorbent, the body of a paper that has taken pigment fully into its weave. The motif sits above the ground plane as a raised impression: no ink, no foil, only the lifted form of the paper itself, lighter than the surrounding sheet through the way highlight settles on its surface and shadow gathers behind it. Edge character is quietly imperfect, occasional fleurs catch light more directly, others sit more softly, in the way embossed papers vary across the press. The overall feeling is of a paper made by pressure alone, the figure carried in the sheet rather than printed onto it, the colour reading as one continuous field with relief working as its only ornament.
