Kyoto Veil
An airy orchard of slender boughs in foggy greys and blush-ume pink brings a quiet dialogue between Kyoto and the English Arts and Crafts palette. The artwork is conceived in the spirit of surface printing, with chalk-matte layers settling over a handmade paper ground that recalls washi traditions. The pattern repeats are small in scale (12.5cm), forming a gentle allover field that supports furniture and art.

Color palette
Rice Paper Cream sets a warm neutral ground reminiscent of handmade washi. Fogleaf Grey shapes the foliage with gentle contrast while Stone Ink strengthens stems and structure. Blushed Ume introduces a soft fruit note read as dusty pink rather than red. Mushroom Husk, a grey-beige cast, merges background and motif into a single quiet harmony.

The ground evokes handmade paper with soft deckle-like irregularities, fibrous inclusions and a velvety matte tooth. Colour appears to sit on top rather than soak through, creating gentle halos at ridge points and tiny variations where pigment meets fibre. The simulated surface-print method adds lightly raised, chalky layers that break ever so slightly over the high spots, reinforcing a hand-laid feel. Under changing light the wall shifts from a calm, woven-like field to a quietly tactile surface.
Pale Veil
The Pale Veil Collection lets us at Linlava show our uncompromising view on texture. The motifs are toned down with surgical control over value and saturation, and every drop carries small, intentional shifts. The wall reads crafted and refined, not embellished, and gives the room breathing space.
We start from historical printing principles and materiality and translate them digitally. Thin, glaze-like layers simulate pigment settling into fibres; contours receive controlled, subtle transitions. The chalk-matte surface with grain, fibre flecks and micro-roughness, delivers the handcrafted materiality we pursue.
Pale Veil is made for spaces that want character and a sense of quiet luxury: living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways. The surface pairs especially well with wood, stone, wool and linen, and leaves room to add further layers of pattern, a pronounced skirting/baseboard, and art on the walls.
