Kyoto's Dark Veil
Climbing branches unfold across a deep charcoal ground with soft sage leaves and muted plum-toned cherries. The artwork evokes surface printing with chalk-matte layers resting on a handmade paper ground inspired by Kyoto's washi traditions. The pattern repeats every 12 cm.

Color palette
Night Washi Charcoal anchors the ground with fibre-rich depth. Sage Shadow defines the foliage in muted tones, while Ash Stem strengthens the branching lines. Plum Cherry introduces a subdued fruit accent, and Sumi Veil merges all elements into a soft, atmospheric field.

The surface resembles handmade paper with fibrous inclusions, soft undulations and a velvety matte tooth. Dark pigments sit on the surface, breaking slightly at fibre peaks to create a powdery halo. Simulated surface-print layers add a chalky, hand-applied effect, enhanced by the nocturnal palette.
Pale Veil
The Pale Veil Collection lets us at Linlava show our uncompromising view on texture. The motifs are toned down with surgical control over value and saturation, and every drop carries small, intentional shifts. The wall reads crafted and refined, not embellished, and gives the room breathing space.
We start from historical printing principles and materiality and translate them digitally. Thin, glaze-like layers simulate pigment settling into fibres; contours receive controlled, subtle transitions. The chalk-matte surface with grain, fibre flecks and micro-roughness, delivers the handcrafted materiality we pursue.
Pale Veil is made for spaces that want character and a sense of quiet luxury: living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways. The surface pairs especially well with wood, stone, wool and linen, and leaves room to add further layers of pattern, a pronounced skirting/baseboard, and art on the walls.
