Color palette
A quiet palette moving from deep green-grey through lichen and dried moss tones to warm parchment. The ground carries the muted coolness of weathered stone, while the foliage shifts between grey-green and khaki, settling into a range that recalls pressed botanical specimens whose pigments have mellowed over decades. The berries and lightest leaves hold a warm cream that lifts against the subdued field without breaking it.
Complementing colors
The ground resembles a fine linen canvas with an irregular, organic grain. Unlike the structured diagonal grid of a petit point weave, this surface carries an even, almost powdery texture where individual marks dissolve into continuous tone. The effect simulates fine gravure: tonal depth built through variations in ink density within microscopic cells, producing soft transitions between light and shadow with no visible line structure. Under changing light the surface shifts between reading as printed cloth and reading as a single tonal wash, the textile grain appearing and receding with the angle of view.
